Patricia Jean Sanders Reeves, age 80 of Killeen, Texas returned home to her Heavenly Father on Friday March 6, 2020 in the VA Hospital in Temple Texas with her loving family by her side. Patricia was born to Coy and Armilda Downing Sanders on November 3, 1939. At the age of 19 she joined the Women’s Army Corps. During her time in the service while stationed at Fort Sill Oklahoma she meet and married her first husband Richard Ray Tweddell (Bissell) and they became the parents of two sons, Kenneth and Roger. She was married and sealed to Jimmie Arnold Reeves in the Provo Utah LDS Temple on November 7, 1975. They were blessed with a daughter. Patricia graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Southern Utah University. She enjoyed being a Foster parent for the state of Utah as well as working at Wasatch Mental Health.
She was the first in her family to become a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints holding many callings over the years. She enjoyed being a Temple Ordinance Worker, Relief Society Visiting Teacher, Relief Society Teacher, RS Compassionate Service Leader and Youth Sunday School Teacher.
Patricia grew up with a love for Rough Collies and Shetland Sheepdogs as well as Persian Cats and a Siamese Cat. She also enjoyed birds. She also enjoyed being a Girl Scout.
Patricia was proceeded in death by her eternal companion and Husband; her parents; and sister Opal Nancy Bush
Patricia is survived by her brother George Richard Rowley of Kansas; Son Kenneth of Killeen Texas, Roger MacDonald,(Elizabeth MacDonald) & Armilda “Millie” Reeves McKell of Killeen Texas; Four grandchildren Ian & Sanna-Belle and Travis, and Jacob.
The family wishes to thank Amedisys Hospice for all the love and support they have shown toward Patricia and her children and grandchildren. Special thanks to the team of doctors and Nurses at the VA Hospital, Visiting Angels, and Encompass Home Health as well as other dear friends.
Family will receive Friends on Wednesday March 11, 2020 from 4-7pm at the Heritage Funeral Home 425 East Central Texas Expressway Harker Heights. A funeral Services will be held on Thursday March 12, 2020 at 11 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on 1410 South 2nd Street Killeen TX 76541, interment with full military honnors will follow at the Killeen Memorial Park 3516 Lake Ave Killeen.
