Natalie McCarrell, age 62 passed away on October 31 after a remarkably courageous battle with cancer.
Natalie was born on March 2, 1959, in Knoxville, Tennessee, and was the third of five children. When she was sixteen her family relocated to Ft. Hood, Texas where she would eventually graduate from Killeen High School. Later, Natalie went on to graduate from Beauty College, and fulfilled her passion working as a stylist for numerous years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ret. SSG James McCarrell and her mother Ermia “Norma Jean” Shephard.
Natalie is survived by her two daughters Aukeava Christian (Wyoming), Cydni Woods (Texas), her four siblings, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Natalie never met a stranger, and she had a zest for giving & caring for others. She will be remembered by many for her compassionate spirit, as many were fortunate to be touched by her guileless desire to nurture.
The family wishes to thank all who selflessly involved themselves to provide any support of comfort for her over the last three years. While a private, family-only viewing will be held on Sunday, November 7, 2021, friends are invited to attend the graveside ceremony to be held on Monday, November 8, 2021, at 9 a.m. at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.
