Marvin Phillips was born January 30, 1934 in Enigma, Georgia, to the Late Charlie Phillips and Pearlie Welch. On January 22, 2020, God summoned him to spend eternity with Him.
He attended Nashville High School in Nashville, Georgia. On December 6, 1956 he entered the United States Army. Over the next 27 years he traveled to Vietnam, Germany, Korea (4), Fort Hood, Texas, Fort Benning, Georgia and other location and retired February 1, 1984. After his retirement he worked at Central Texas College for many years.
During his Army career he was awarded the Soldier Medal, Bronze Star Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, six Army Good Conduct Medals and various other awards and recommendations.
On May 6, 1979 he married Chong Sun Parker and over the next 40 year they enjoyed life and travel the world. He lived in the Killeen Area for over 45 years. He was a member of Liberty House Bible Church, in Killeen, Texas. Marvin Phillips was a Third-Degree Mason.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 40 years of Killeen; and his sister Juanita Clark of Indiana. He is preceded in death by 13 siblings.
