Linda Kaye O'Neal

August 20, 1951 ~ June 9, 2021 (age 69)

A beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Linda O’Neal left this world, at 69, on the 9th of June, 2021.  Born in Shreveport, Louisiana on August 20th, 1951 to M.C. O’Neal and Annie (Thomas) Bates. She and her family moved to Houston, Texas as a young girl where she lived until she was aged 51.  She then moved to Central Texas where she lived for the remainder of her life.

Linda was a lover of flowers and enjoyed growing ivy plants.  She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.  One of her secret joys was playing video games with her children and grandchildren.  They often looked to her for her expertise on how to advance in the games.  She was funny and loved making funny faces without being seen by others.  She also loved traveling all around the United States.  She also visited Canada, Ireland, and Scotland.

Always willing to smile and be positive in the face of adversity, her children learned from her strength and her abiding faith in God.  We will always remember her as an amazing and protective mother and grandmother.  Her presence in our lives will be sorely missed, but, God willing, we will be reunited with her one day.

When you think of Linda, celebrate the good memories you have of her.

Linda was preceded in death by her father; M.C. O’Neal; stepfather, Henry Lee Bates; son in law, Darren McDaniel; and grandson, Darren McDaniel II.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her mother, Annie Bates; children, Joyce McDaniel, Cheryl Wilson and husband Michael, Alicia O’Neal, Jason Boygues, Tyrone O’Neal and Tiffany O’Neal; grandchildren, Britney McDaniel, Jenise McDaniel, Sean Caplinger, Darren McDaniel III, Cheryl ‘Lucy’ Caplinger and 3 great-grandchildren, Trealyn Kincheon, Amari McDaniel, and Kai’mora McDaniel; siblings  Roosevelt Trammel, Twin sister Margie ‘Dorthy’ Andrews, Ruby Tinker, Henry Lee Bates, Charlene Strong, Annie Bates, and Larry Bates and all of her nieces and nephews which she loved very much.
