John W. Hoch II, 67, passed away on July 2, 2021. No services are planned at this time.
John was born on December 27, 1953, to Charles and Ida Hoch in San Antonio, Texas. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School. He then attended Texas Lutheran College in Seguin for Pre-Pharmacy schooling going on to the University of Texas where he received his pharmacy degree. John opened a private practice, Clear Creek Pharmacy in Killeen, Texas. After graduation John met the love of his life, Sara Stanphill, a teacher in Copperas Cove, while working at Clear Creek Pharmacy. They were introduced by a teacher friend. They were married on June 23, 1984, in Dallas Texas. Together they built their house along with the help of relatives, on John’s land in Killeen. John and Sara had two boys, Christopher Stanphill and Daniel Patrick. John opened his own Pharmacy called Pharcraft in Florence, Texas. This enabled him, from his Pharmacy, to provide school supplies for the Junior High and elementary schools in Florence. John started an activities center in 2001, RUG Activity Center which means “Rely Upon God.” Later the Activity Center was turned into an Animal Shelter. John believed in a no kill shelter. John loved animals and Christmas and decorating the activity center for Christmas. The biggest light show had 38,000 lights with a Christmas village on display in the center. His all-time favorite hobby was building with Lego’s.
John W. Hoch II was preceded in death by his, parents, Charles and Ida Hoch.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sara Hoch; sons, Christopher Hoch and Daniel Hoch; brother, Charles George Hoch and his wife Joan; nephew, Michael George Hoch and numerous cats, chickens, and dog which John loved.
