Iris Delia Castro, 62, passed away in Fort Pierce, Fl peacefully on October 30, 2020 surrounded by her children. Visitation will be from 6pm to 8pm Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Heritage Funeral Home in Harker Heights, TX. Recital of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7pm. Graveside services are Friday, November 6, 2020 at 9am at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX.
Iris was born on November 12, 1957 to Felicito Luciano and Gloria Hernandez in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico. She was raised in Cayey, Puerto Rico. Iris traveled to many states along side her husband who served in the United States Army for twenty years. First and foremost, Iris took extraordinary pride in being a wonderful mother and grandmother. Iris loved to sing and dance; she always enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She had a beautiful smile and kind nature that made everyone gravitate towards her. Her favorite pastimes were cooking, sewing, crocheting, working with clay, and making jewelry. She always had the ambition to try and excel at new hobbies.
She is preceded in death by her father, Felicito Luciano, and mother, Gloria Hernandez; Brothers, Elico Diaz, and Oscar Rivera; and sister, Maritza Cotto.
She is survived by her husband, Hector J. Castro Sr.; Son, Juan Gabriel Castro and girlfriend, Nicole; Son, Juan Javier Castro and wife, Fenelopy; Son, Hector J. Castro Jr. and wife, Kenye; Daughter, Mildred A. Negron and boyfriend, Antonio; Grandchildren, Joshua and Juleika Rodriguez, Junito, George, Camille, and Javier Castro; and Great granddaughters Aliyah, Taliyah, and Yamilette Rodriguez; and brothers and sisters residing in Florida, Massachusetts, and Puerto Rico.
