Obituary

Retired US Army Staff SGT Edward M. Broussard, 58, died at his home on March 8, 2020. SGT Broussard was born on October 24, 1961 in Lafayette, LA. He grew up one of 10 siblings and is a proud graduate of Cecilia Senior High School’s Class of 1979. Edward later joined the US Army at the age of 25 and served in Germany, Korea, Panama, Iraq and Afghanistan.  Along the way, he was recognized for his numerous accomplishments and awards.

He married the love of his life in 1995. Lois and Edward would eventually settle down in Harker Heights, Texas after traveling the world with the military. Staff SGT Broussard retired from active military service in 2007 and began working for First National Bank of Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Lois Broussard; his sons, David and Randall, and four grandchildren; brothers, John Broussard and wife Bernadette, Kenneth Broussard and wife Janet, Joseph Broussard and wife Elnora, and David Mike Broussard; sisters, Joyce Broussard, Brenda Thompson and husband Charles, Patricia Francis and husband Rodney; and his favorite nephew Lionel Broussard. Edward was a devoted family man and leaves behind a legacy of helping others.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ovignac Broussard Sr. and Ourline Dural Broussard; sister, Georgia Broussard; brother, Ovignac Broussard Jr; nephew, John Broussard Jr.
