Alex Arnold Torres, 78, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 3, 2021. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM Friday, September 10, 2021, followed by a Celebration of Life at 10:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home.
Alex was born on August 11, 1943, to Alex Torres and Stella Elizondo Torres in San Antonio, Texas. He attended St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas and then enlisted into the Army while in college. He met the love of his life, Sylvia Delgado while in the Army. They were married on August 7, 1982 and had three children. Together they traveled and lived all around the world. Alex served for 22 years in the Army before retiring and then beginning a career in Civil Service with the military serving another 24 years. After retiring he told his wife “I’m not going to get a haircut and I’m not going to get up early” and he did! Alex loved going to the shooting range and watching western movies. He loved to feed his family and friends as well as donating to his favorite charities. He was a family man and always looked forward to spoiling his children and grandchildren.
Alex Arnold Torres was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Stella Torres and his niece, Jennifer Montoya.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 39 years, Sylvia Torres; his son, Jesse Torres, and his partner, Sophie Bolles; his daughter, Michelle Jansen and her husband, Jeremiah; his daughter, Laura Torres and her husband, Joe Cox; his grandchildren, Mikayla, Natalie, and Izabella; his daughter, Kathleen Carey and her husband, George; his sister, Sandra Torres; and his nephews, Carlos Montoya and Mathew Montoya.
